What do I need to rent a Wood fired barrel Sauna?

Passion for optimal health and sense of adventure!  No, really it’s easy, just go to the calendar and pick the dates you would like to use the sauna. Fill in the requested information and confirm. We will provide the sauna, wood, fire-starting equipment, and cold plunge tub

We recommend wearing a bathing suit! Make sure to bring your towels to dry off after you are done!

We clean the sauna after each use with environmentally safe cleaners. All the touch points are wiped down so you can be assured you’ll receive a clean sauna for your use.

The sauna will be delivered by ~11 am on your rental date. (Within 10 miles of Traverse City) Please call us for delivery  beyond 10 miles.

Your sauna rental includes enough seasoned wood for 5-6 hours of great sauna!. Once delivered, just start the fire in the fire box and keep it filled with wood until the sauna reaches your desired temperature.  Once at temperature, just add enough wood to keep the fire going to enjoy the dry heat for hours.  Easy!

No, burning un-seasoned (green/wet) wood will cause a slow, inefficient burn and is not allowed.  Additional wood can be purchased if you think you’ll need more wood then 5-6 hour usage per day. Please do not use wood that is not provided by Northern Heat Sauna Rentals

Sauna temperatures are a personal preference, some like it HOT, some not so much.  But to get the true benefits out of the sauna, we recommend a temperature between 160 degrees and 190 degrees.  Remember, stay hydrated, drink plenty of water before, during and after your sauna.

Saunas can be enjoyed by almost everyone, young or older.  Just be careful, and consult your Doctor if you’re concerned about using a high temperature dry sauna.

We recommend 40 – 60 minutes, but you be the guide.  Saunas are to be enjoyed for short or longer periods. Always consult with your medical team before attempting to use the sauna to make sure you are healthy enough for its use

Just fill the cold plunge with a hose to about 2/3 full.  After using the sauna, take a quick dip in the cold plunge.  See if you can last 1 or 2 minutes!  For a real treat, add a bag of ice!

Not really, just let the fire burn out, and make sure to take all your belongings. We’ll take it from there.
